Back in 1954 Charles Tomlinson started a small forestry consulting firm in northwest Alabama.
Forest management was in its infancy back then, and landowners had few markets for their timber. Over the next 20 years the consulting business grew, and by the mid-1990's Tomlinson & Associates was actively managing thousands of acres of timberland for both small and large landowners.
In 1997 Charles' son Stephan took over as President. In 2001 he expanded the business and founded Natural Resources Group, Inc. (NRG) to provide real estate and appraisal services. Seven years later the management and appraisal services were spun-off into our sister company GROWING ASSETS, allowing NRG to focus solely on providing real estate brokerage services.
The landscape has changed over the years, but the principles of honesty, integrity, and "mutual trade for mutual benefit" that have guided this company for over 50 years remain unchanged.
